New Unmanned Aircraft that can remain in the air for over 24 hours has been added to Israeli Air Force family. The drone named ‘Eitan’ meaning ‘Strong’ in Hebrew is said to be 24 meters long and 26 meters wide wingspan. Similar to Boeing-737 which weighs about 4.5 tonnes and as it can remain in the air for nearly 24 hours, it can fly to and from Persian Gulf.
The aircraft built by Israeli Aerospace Industry in corporation with Israeli Air Force is equipped with radar, cameras, high-tech electronic equipment including mapping devices, which could provide surveillance and jamming enemies’ communications.
This new unmanned aircraft can reach up to an altitude of 40,000 feet (12,000 meters) flying for a whole day. Eitan is the largest unmanned aircraft of Israeli Air Force. This is also a massive breakthrough in technology for Israeli Military, who is the leader in making unmanned aircraft from the size of a mosquito to the size of Boeing-737 a passenger airliner.
