Gurkha soldier’s body flown to UK

The body of Yubraj Rai, from the 2nd Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles, based in Folkestone, who was killed by emeny fire on 4th of November 2008 in Afghanistan has been flown to UK. The 28 year old young man from Khotang district in the eastern Nepal was the first Gurkha to die in the conflict, when his patrol came under attack in Musa Qala area of Helmand province in Afghanistan.
Mister-Rai.com --- Gurkha soldier!The body of Mr. Rai was brought back to RAF Lyneham with full military honours. Previously he had served in Iraq, Sierra Leone, Bosnia and Afghanistan as well. He loved sports specially football, keen sportsman who enjoyed all competition.
Yubraj Rai, joined the British Army in 1999, following in the footsteps of his uncle. A normal tradition in the family of Gurkha soldier, if not always, then most of the time inspires the younger ones to join the British Gurkhas. Another living proof of Gurkhas’ connection with the United Kingdom and its people.
